Quality and Reliability
Maintenance and operations of the network is managed by
Internetworking Atlantic Inc. (IAI) to ensure reliability, quality and delivery of service even during emergency situations.
IAI specializes in the provision of
high-bandwidth fibre-optic telecommunications services
throughout Atlantic Canada. IAI owns and operates more
than 300 kilometres of optical infrastructure that serve business,
institutional and government customers in the region.
Scalability
The network is designed to meet the growing capacity needs of the Valley Region. In rapid growth scenario, coarse and dense wavelength division multiplexing can be implemented, effectively multiplying the cable capacity up to 256 times, with an anticipated increase to 512 times.
Single-mode fibre provides a higher transmission rate and up to 50 times more distance than multimode.
Customer Control and Cost
VCFN customers acquire and manage all electro-optical equipment used to connect to the fibre giving control of speed, bandwidth and other features.
Customization
We will work with you to create an agreement that suits your growing needs.
Security
Dedicated fibre optic strands will be allocated to each
customer to assure secure and protected transfer of data.
Operations, Administration and Maintenance
The VCFN will administer and maintain the network, ensure ongoing integrity and operations.
In case of emergency, fibre tags are installed for ease of identification at every pole, riser, dip and within every manhole. The VCFN tags are yellow with black lettering and display the following information with a toll-free number
that
is accessible 24/7.
